Agent Green moves its digital infrastructure to the Swiss Infomaniak platform
Moving our digital home somewhere that reflects our values
Agent Green is moving its digital infrastructure — storage, communications, meetings and our online workspace — to the Swiss platform Infomaniak Network.
We chose Infomaniak because it is one of the few European technology companies trying to demonstrate that technology can exist without digital extractivism, aggressive surveillance and greenwashing:
- data centers powered by 100% local renewable energy;
- solar energy produced during the day, supplemented at night by pumped-storage hydropower — one of the most efficient and clean energy-storage methods available today;
- in practice, surplus solar energy pumps water into an upper reservoir, and at night the energy is recovered through the controlled flow of water down through turbines;
- an energy-storage model that is more durable and intelligent than lithium-ion batteries, without the risks and waste associated with nuclear energy;
- reuse of 100% of the energy consumed as heat for local communities;
- infrastructure that can heat up to 6,000 homes and avoid approximately 3,600 tonnes of CO₂ annually;
- energy efficiency among the best in the world (PUE ~1.09 versus the European average of ~1.6);
- offsetting 200% of the company’s CO₂ emissions;
- servers reused and upgraded to reduce electronic waste and unnecessary resource consumption.
But infrastructure is only part of it. Organizational culture matters too.
Infomaniak is trying to build a more democratic and ethical business model, reducing the concentration of power and developing structures based on collective responsibility, autonomy and the long-term public interest. Even the founders have begun transferring control of the company to a foundation dedicated to digital sovereignty, open-source software, biodiversity and digital democracy.

In a world where the digital impact on the planet is growing, we believe environmental organizations must also choose responsibly where they keep their data and how they build their online infrastructure.
We thank Infomaniak for supporting Agent Green and for demonstrating that technology can perform well while remembering people and nature.
