Illegal construction in Cheile Nerei – Beușnița National Park – PROMO

Agent Green will publish its investigation tomorrow into illegal demolition and construction activities at the Călugăra Orthodox Monastery in the Ciclova Valley, in an area with multiple layers of protection in Caraș-Severin County. The works are being carried out without a building permit or environmental consent in the Valea Ciclovei – Ilidia Nature Reserve in Cheile Nerei-Beușnița National Park, which overlaps with Natura 2000 protected areas of European interest (the Cheile Nerei-Beușnița Site of Community Importance and Special Protection Area). The interventions have significantly affected the stream and the old-growth forests on publicly owned state forest land classified as T1, meaning strict protection.
