The Gala Curaj honourees
Romania is gripped by despair, division, moral decline and an abrupt loss of values. We need an event celebrating courage, modesty, integrity, kindness and the persistence to transform the world around us into a better society: inclusive, free, resilient and environmentally sound, both physically and morally.
How can we keep fighting for a healthy environment when society is convalescing?
The Gala Curaj promotes sustained courage, maintained altruistically despite obstacles, unjust laws and the harassment of the humanity within us, and encourages the resilience of positive, constructive values. An event that aims to inspire anyone to choose the necessary path of change towards a healthy self, in a healthy society, in a healthy environment
Press release, Bucharest, 14 May 2024
Agent Green invites the press and public to the Romanian Athenaeum on 3 June from 19:00 to celebrate together the courage to live free of masks and fears. The courage to express each person’s unique gift for the benefit of society as a whole. The celebration is called the “Gala Curaj” and will present 10 honorary awards to heroes in and behind the spotlight — 10 heroes who have learned to say NO when they must say NO and to do what makes their hearts sing, warming other hearts with their gifts. 10 heroes who nourish our hope that each of us matters in building a better world, the world we have dreamed of for an eternity.
Amalia Enache of PRO TV will be master of ceremonies alongside Gabriel Păun, founder of Agent Green and initiator of the Gala Curaj. The honourees are nonpartisan people or groups who have consistently shown courage through their actions or work, efforts intended to contribute to a more tolerant, ethical, inclusive, empathetic and principled world. They inspire positive change locally and nationally. They have demonstrated passion for their calling, sustained despite obstacles, sacrifices and effort, beyond official working hours and, above all, beyond remuneration. Their fields are art, education, culture, human rights, ethnic groups’ rights, journalism, health, justice, civic activism, and environmental and animal rights.
The honorary awards consist of musical performances by the Violoncellissimo Ensemble and a work by artist Dan Perjovschi, both dedicated to each honouree.
