Thank you to everyone who became the voice of the forests yesterday! It was sensational, with a perfect atmosphere, and gave us the motivation we needed to take another step forward for forests. Young and old, you came with the most beautiful messages and spoke up for Romania’s forests, the most valuable in Europe, from every corner of Europe!

Besides the thousands of participants in Bucharest, yesterday’s March for Forests brought nature lovers together across the country — Cluj, Arad, Brașov, Oradea, Timișoara, Iași, Sibiu, Corabia, Slănic Moldova, Bistrița and beyond — and in Europe too: Zurich, Vienna, London, Prague, Brussels and Madrid were also with us.

Forests are no longer in the shadows. Their vital importance is increasingly hard to ignore, and people are beginning to learn. We have Europe’s last 526 000 hectares of primary and old-growth forests and its largest intact areas of wild nature. If we do not protect them now, we will not get a second chance.
