  1. THE TITLE

Obtain your Kind Being title for a 30€ donation. For this donation you shall receive both, the title and help the Kindom grow with a square meter of mixed forests made of soft and hard woods in Transylvania. For each additionally 10€ donated, the Kindom will grow with another square meter.

This is the title of a new era, the era of kindness. People may then address you with “Your Kindness” or call you “Kind Being”. The title illustrates a person who is kind to all beings who lives in the nature and who cares for the present as much as for the future.

  1. THE PLEDGE

Woodlands provide a rich and vibrant haven for the local flora and wildlife, but many are at risk of being razed down for dirty profit. To protect and to grow these paradise forests, Agent Green has pledged to keep the Kindom free from any disturbances or disruptions. Agent Green stands for protecting life and dignity for all live forms. You can only shoot pictures in the Kindom, not bullets. Hunting and logging will never be permitted here. We use modern technology to bust poachers and illegal lumberjacks in action. The guard system includes instant alerts when chainsaw, gun shots or motorized vehicles are detected. Our rangers will go instantly to the area and defer the perpetrators to the authorities.

Exploitation of animals for sport, entertainment, food or decorations is not kind, therefore not an option in the Kindom. Only extraction of invasive alien plant species might be performed if mother nature cannot fix this by herself.

The Kindom is a carbon sink. It represents the cheapest most simple and wonderful Mother Nature created “machine” to combat climate change and to help biodiversity to thrive.

While you receive your title, you will make sure that about 24 kg of carbon are stored forever for each square meter of forest. And the benefit of your kindness grows bigger while the forest also produces oxygen. Each tree produces 100 kg of oxygen each year.

Our pledge to Your Kindness goes even beyond this. We work with the local communities to spread kindness further. We work towards growing the coexistence and coadaptation of communities and wildlife to mitigate the unpleasant conflicts of humans with the large predators such as bears, wolves and lynx. Finally, this project helps the local communities to prevail from ecotourism. Actually, our rangers are members of this community.

We encourage Your Kindness to visit the Kindom at any time and own risk, but ask that you are mindful to leave the area as you found it so as to not disturb the environment. Best is to book one of our local rangers. They will maximize your wild experience and will keep Your Kindness safe.

How does a tree produce oxygen?

Trees release oxygen when they use energy from sunlight to make glucose from carbon dioxide and water. Like all plants, trees also use oxygen when they split glucose back down to release energy to power their metabolisms. Averaged over a 24-hour period, they produce more oxygen than they use up. Otherwise, there would be no net gain in growth.

It takes six molecules of CO2 to produce one molecule of glucose by photosynthesis, and six molecules of oxygen are released as a by-product. A glucose molecule contains six carbon atoms, so that is a net gain of one molecule of oxygen for every atom of carbon added to the tree.

How much oxygen does a tree produce?

A mature sycamore tree might be around 12m tall and weigh two tons, including the roots and leaves. If it grows by five per cent each year, it will produce around 100kg of wood, of which 38kg will be carbon. Allowing for the relative molecular weights of oxygen and carbon, this equates to 100kg of oxygen per tree per year.

The bigger the tree, the more total oxygen it produces and more is its own requirement for oxygen for survival. Net offset Oxygen, as opposed to total Oxygen produced, is the oxygen returned to the atmosphere: this depends more on the rate of growth of a tree.

How much oxygen do I need to breath properly? How many trees do I need for the air I breath?

A human breathes about 9.5 tons of air in a year, but oxygen only makes up about 23 per cent of that air, by mass, and we only extract a little over a third of the oxygen from each breath. That works out to a total of about 740kg of oxygen per year. Which is, very roughly, 7-8 trees’ worth.

How many square meters of forest do I need to donate for to produce my oxygen?

Well, the canopy of 7-8 trees in a mature forest may cover as much as 1000 m².

How much carbon does the forest store?

On average, old-growth hardwood and softwood forests stored 216 and 267 metric tons of carbon/ha, respectively.
